I’m always asked, “What are your favorite beauty products?”—and honestly, I find that question hard to answer. My role as Bazaar’s beauty director requires me to test hundreds, if not thousands, of launches yearly, so my favorites change daily as I discover what’s new. I’m not alone in this. My colleagues also have access to the best that beauty has to offer, and, combined with their exceptional taste, are keepers of so many must-have recommendations across skincare, haircare, body care, makeup, and more. “I’ve tried my fair share of cleansing balms, and many either left a tacky residue on the skin after a thorough rinse or irritated my face to the point of breakouts. I wasn’t familiar with Femmue until recently, and this balm was the brand’s first product I tried. So far, I’m loving it! It has a subtle scent that’s a little sweet and a little herbal and goes on thick with a honeylike texture before turning into an oil that quickly rinses away. “Now that summer is officially over, I am deeply mourning the loss of my tan. I often struggle with giving myself the same natural-looking, sun-kissed color throughout the other seasons. But I think it’s because I had never used the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing cream. I’ve long heard it was the holy grail of bronzers, and now I can see why. The cream goes on easily and blends like butter. It’s balmy, creamy, and buildable. I love using it to contour my cheekbones and add more definition to my face. But unlike other bronzers, it genuinely brightens up my entire face in a way that often only a natural tan can do. It also lasts forever, so people think I’m just tan when I wear it and not just using makeup.” —TG

“I recently went to get my first facial at Sofie Pavitt after multiple beauty editors told me it was the place to go in New York. Her signature SPF facial left me feeling glowy and refreshed after weeks of nonstop travel. Days later, I feel like my skin looks the best it has in months. My esthetician recommended Pavit’s mandelic clearing serum as an exfoliator at night to help with some of the dead-skin-cell buildup she saw. It makes me feel so glowy, and I cannot imagine my makeup routine without it. All I do is apply it straight onto my cheeks and pat out for a perfect look that I don’t need to reapply. “I'm very picky when it comes to shower products, especially since my skin runs dry, and I feel that so many shower gels and soaps really strip my skin. I recently tried out a mini version of Mexican wellness brand Nopalera’s cactus-flower exfoliant and its Dulce de Cuerpo Cactus Cream (that I found at Freedom Apothecary), and not only am I hydrated, smooth, and moisturized, I smell divine!
